    Dear Anthony,

I am a recent graduate of reflexology. I have been working for over a year now and now have my first client who is looking to Reflexology for sub fertility. I will be giving her a full treatment with emphasis paid on the reproductive system, all glands, lower spine and diaphragm. Would you have recomendations to how often and when I should treat this client? Or have any helpful information as how I can better help my client.

    “without prejudice”

    Hi Deirdre,

Thanks for your message posted on my Blog! Sorry for the delay in answering you, which I am doing direct to your E-mail address also.

I totally agree with the areas you are concentrating on, starting at the head -

    – ALL of the toes front / back / top.

    The Brain

The Pituitary – usually shown as the center of both big toes (in my own opinion this could NOT be right, as, if you divide the body down the middle one half of the Pituitary HAS to be near the inner edge of each big toe – the side towards the spine reflex!!! It must be worked in a “Hook in and Back up manner to access it properly.

ALL of the Spine reflexes – up and down – most people don’t know how to do this properly – ring me for clarification. Emphasise the heel area as this is the area for the pelvis and it’s contents.

The Diaphragm for relaxation (on both feet) BUT, very few Reflexologists realise or know that the Solar Plexus is ONLY on the Left foot as, in reality it is situated behind the stomach which is mainly on the left foot!

The Liver – to deal with some emotional junk (the Liver has between 300 and 500 functions we know of and between 3000 and 5000 we do not know about!!! It must be treated on BOTH feet – most charts are INACCURATE showing it on the right foot only

The Adrenals – which are nigh on impossible to treat seprately from the Kidneys as they are so small.

The dorsum of the foot should also be treated as the Zones go right through the foot!

I ALWAYS take Geopathic Stress into consideration as people are / can be affected by where they sleep – I can E-mail you privately on the subject.

Always remember that you are treating the person not the disease! – Pregnancy is NOT a Disease!

Be mindful of Eunice Ingham’s advice “Treat LITTLE, LIGHTLY and OFTEN”

I suggest you treat her initially twice a week for two or three weeks, then weekly after that regardless of her periods. Advise her NOT to use Essential Oils in her bath or too much fancy bath lotions as they have been known / suspected of interfering with fertilisation – affecting the walls of the uterus etc.!!!

As usual – I totally disagree with the use of ANY OILS, LOTIONS, CREAMS or goo before or during a treatment as they are MEDICINAL in nature. If you are dealing with dry feet only use Corn Flour.

Finally, what consideration is being given to her partner – the women alone should not be blamed – remember “TISSUES HAVE ISSUES”

Look up my friend’s website http://www.drmjan.com his name is Dr M. Jan, Pouldrew House, Kilmeaden, Co. Waterford, Tel. 051 384545. He is a qualified doctor as well as being an internationally renowned Acupuncturist – he has had up to a 70% success rate using Acupuncture!

Ring me over the weekend on 087 2538838 for more info.

Best wishes, & a Happy New Year.

    Hi There ..

I have treated quite a few women with fertility problems and have to say that the majority of them had emotional issues that were blocking the pregnancies on an energy level .. so when I treated them I treated all the reflex zones that were previously mentioned by both u & anthony.

However, I tended to veer away from the clinical step by step aspect of reflexology and spent a little extra time doing relaxation techniques and by cupping the intercoastal muscles, lymph & rib reflex zones with my hands and I found that quite often the first few times I did this my clients cried or laughed again an emotional release I think.

I also treated two of my clients husbands and this was probably as beneficial as treating the ladies. In one particular case I referred my clients partner to a time line therapist due to the fact that although he wanted to have a child he was terrified of it and I felt that it was a past life issue .. It was .. it transpired that he had lost a child in a previous life time and that this was the block .. they concieved a baby four and a half weeks after this after trying for a baby for 12 years ..

I also think that as a reflexologist, it is important to realise that you cant “fix” someone, you are just the catalyst for them to heal themselves .. the energy of the baby chooses its parents and sometimes the hardest part of treating someone with fertility problems is realising that sometimes its not meant to be but I absolutely believe that if the timing is right, what will be, will be.

Do you do reiki therapy ?? this may also be a beneficial treatment to try .. acupuncture fantastic ,,

Finally, its important to have a good diet high in protein, especially for men as it effects the quality of the sperm. Plenty of fresh fruit and veg and lots of water to detox the body. New Vistas homeopathic remedies do a product called Female Liquescence which is a tonic for female organs, very beneficial.

The last thing that might be useful to know about is that sometimes women in particular can have a Candida imbalance (parasitic) and this can result in a deficiency in magnesium and this can have a substantial effect on the menstrual cycle .. I can give more info on this if you want to drop me an email (mahersus@hotmail.com)

    I wish you every sucess .. :)

Dear Anthony ! I find your Web site, a wonderful find. I tried to place an invite, forward to you, to become a member of Michiganreflexcommunity Messageboard, but as I am still working out kinks, it did not go out. You can find our Group, at Yahoo groups/alternative Medicine section. As in good measure, I will apply your Website, to our Links, so other members of our Group, find it helpful, like I did. Thank you, sincerely, Gerlinde Bowen

Hi Anthony, loving the new site, have a question about diverticulitis. I was treating my father for a week everyday for severe bleeding in the stool. He was diagnosed with Diverticulitis 3 months ago. since then he has experienced bleeding at intervals of 2 weeks and the episodes last at least 2 to 3 days. he is on various homeopathic meds to strenghten digestive system and veins. It must also be noted that he is on warfarin and other blood thinners as he has an artificial heart valve. I noticed particular sensetivity in the sigmoid colon area and the acending colon. As the week progressed the pain and the sensetivity had lessend, however the bleeding has lasted a the whole week. any ideas? have I over worked the areas? would appreciate any help. thanks

    Hi Sonya,
Thanks for your kind words and input.
Normally, as you know, I never recommend reflexology where there is in-diagnosed internal bleeding, however, in your father’s situation, taking into account he is also on Warfarin and he is bleeding intermittently and has a diagnosis, I would personally advise you to only give him a complete very light treatment – ensuring all reflexes are worked on. Also remember that although reflexology can improve circulation, it does not increase circulation, in this case BLEEDING – there is a very fine line here! Reflexology is non-medical and we do not treat specific illnesses or any condition in isolation.
If there was a danger to applying pressure to the reflexes, then his doctor would literally request him not to walk on uneven surfaces as doing so could cause or exacerbate the bleeding, this is where such contra-indications are ridiculous.
Similarly, pregnant women would be aborting by walking on pebbles on a beach! I do not think you have overworked the areas – err on the side of safety! Knowing you personally, I trust your instincts and expertise. The main contra-indication in Reflexology is” never treat if you don’t want to”

    Hi Josie,
I have posted your message about the course and would recommend this course to anyone who would like to complement their knowledge of Toe/Foot Reading.
This course should also be of interest to other therapists or parents.
